Every year, many applicants who are rejected by the French embassy turn to applying for studying in Quebec instead. Quebec, the largest Francophone region outside of France, has 6.8 million descendants of the French. There are 15 universities in Quebec that offer courses in French. International students predominantly apply for business-related management programs, which account for 26% of all applications. These programs are not only the most favored by international students but also have the highest employment rate and salaries.

According to statistics from the Canadian Human Resources Department, here are eight professional fields with promising career prospects:

1. New Media - Online media is the fastest-growing area in communications and journalism. The new media major combines traditional journalism courses with digital media design and management.

2. Bioengineering - This field incorporates both biology and engineering. Bioengineering majors often complement their studies with business courses. Related fields like bioinformatics and biomedical engineering also have good prospects.

3. Organic Agriculture - Some Canadian universities began offering majors in organic agriculture in 2007.

4. Homeland Security - The Canadian Security Agency provides numerous scholarships and financial aids to students in this major, along with an 18-month degree-granting training course at the Homeland Security Defense Center.

5. E-commerce and Online Marketing - This major focuses on commercial transactions conducted over the internet. It's usually offered as a graduate-level course in business schools, but some Canadian universities now offer undergraduate degrees.

6. Computer Game Design - Some colleges focus on game development while others emphasize the artistic aspects of game design.

7. Forensic Accounting - This is one of the fastest-growing specialties in accounting. In addition to basic accounting skills, it requires broader business knowledge. Most schools offer undergraduate degrees, while a few offer master’s degrees.

8. Human-Computer Interaction - This is typically a graduate-level course in computer science departments, but some schools now offer undergraduate courses.
