Nanfang Daily News - On the morning of December 15th, Tang, the deputy director of the school office at Sanxin Bilingual School, a well-known private school in Zhongshan, was taken away by police officers from Anhui province. After the police notification, the teachers, students, and parents of the school learned that Tang was suspected of molesting seven young girls eleven years ago and had been on the run from the police. Upon investigation, it was found that Tang did not commit any further crimes during his 11 years of escape. Currently, he has been arrested according to law.
Molesting Young Girls and Fleeing While on Bail
According to the police notification from Dangtu County in Anhui, between November 1998 and March 1999, Tang, who was teaching at a primary school in Dangtu County, successively lured seven female students from his class to his home where he molested them on seven occasions.
After the case came to light in March 1999, the Dangtu police captured him and placed him under arrest according to law. Due to his severe illness, the police legally changed his compulsory measures and granted him bail. However, Tang fled and remained missing for 11 years without a trace.
This year, after extensive investigations by local police, it was finally discovered that he had assumed a false name and become the deputy director of the school office at Sanxin Bilingual School in Zhongshan. At around 11:00 am on December 15th, Ye Chuanhua, a police officer from Ma'anshan in Anhui, confirmed that Tang was the fugitive who had been wanted for molesting seven elementary school girls 11 years ago.
Police Claim He Did Not Commit Any Crimes During His Escape
Yesterday, the Anhui police disclosed that Tang has been arrested and is awaiting trial by the court. However, upon hearing that a "sexual predator" had been among the school leadership at Sanxin Bilingual School, many student parents began to panic. Investigating Officer Ye Chuanhua reassured the parents, “Based on the current multi-faceted investigations by the police and Tang's own confession, he did not commit any further crimes during his escape.”
This incident also raised some questions from parents regarding the management practices of Sanxin Bilingual School, a well-known private school within Zhongshan City. The investigating officer also stated that although this matter was not directly related to the school, there were indeed some loopholes in its management. Ye Chuanhua explained that during his escape, Tang had worked at several schools in places like Shantou and Zhongshan. These were all private schools, including some well-known ones, “It’s possible that some management practices at private schools are indeed somewhat laxer, allowing Tang to exploit these gaps.”
The Truth Only Revealed to His Current Wife After His Arrest
It was reported that during his escape, Tang obtained a fake ID but, fearing capture, “he never dared to take flights or trains.” Tang has been married three times. It was only after his arrest that his current wife learned her husband was actually a "wanted criminal on the internet." Ye Chuanhua said that later, she called hoping the police would take good care of her husband, “She was worried about his heart condition.” Later, she even specially traveled to Anhui to busy herself with his affairs, “Their feelings seem quite deep.”
Tang also expressed remorse to his family, “He feels he let down his family, especially his youngest son.”
