Our reporter (Zhu Yan) - A man claiming to rob women at knifepoint near Hepingli in order to cure his infertile girlfriend. During his first robbery, he sat down and chatted with the victim, crying as he told her about his situation. Yesterday in the Dongcheng court room, he admitted his guilt. The prosecution accused him, on December 26th 2010 at around 9pm, of threatening Xu with a knife in a specialty store on Hepingli East Street in the Dongcheng district, robbing her of two hundred RMB yuan on the spot. Subsequently, Sun robbed multiple people at knifepoint at an automatic bank near Hepingli zone six, a tobacco and liquor shop in zone seven, and another automatic bank on Hepingli East Street. The public prosecution service believed that Sun threatened others multiple times with a knife, forcibly stealing their possessions on the scene, and should be held responsible for robbery. At the age of 35, Sun had a criminal record; in 1996 he was sentenced by a Shandong court to five and a half years in prison for robbery, being paroled in 1999. It is understood that all victims in this case were female. At 10:10am yesterday morning, Sun was escorted into the court by judicial police. He was thin but spoke loudly. In response to the accusations, he loudly proclaimed: "I admit my guilt!" Sun confessed that he came to Beijing to work in order to treat his girlfriend, but later lost his job. Thus the idea of robbery was born. In court, he raised objections to the first accusation. In the first accusation, Sun threatened Ms Xu in a specialty store on Hepingli East Street with a knife, immediately robbing her of 200 yuan. "I borrowed the money from her." Ms Xu's testimony stated that after Sun explained his situation to her, he took out 200 yuan from his waist bag and gave it to him, mainly "out of sympathy".
