According to the UK's Daily Mail, a British couple of 81 years old reunited through the internet and married each other 65 years after their initial breakup. The bride, Mary Lainis, and the groom, John Agins, knew each other since they were seven years old. Later, John joined the Royal Air Force as an aircraft technician and traveled frequently around the world, which led to their separation. Sixty-five years later, John accidentally found Mary’s email address and immediately sent her an email inviting his first love for a meeting.
"At first, I was afraid to see him because I thought my face full of wrinkles would disappoint him," said Mary. "But my daughter told me that time cannot erase the traces of years, and I would still be the most beautiful in John’s heart."
"However, now I am glad that I had the courage to meet him; he is still so handsome," she added.
On September 17th, the wedding of the two elderly people was grandly held in a church in West Yorkshire, with more than 200 relatives and friends attending the ceremony. John expressed: "After 65 years, we are finally together. She looked so beautiful when she walked towards me. We are very happy to have so many people blessing us."
"We still have a long time to enjoy life together. I want to live to 100 years old with John. Next April, we plan to take a cruise to the Mediterranean for our second honeymoon," Mary said happily.
