Driving schools' random charges become complaint hotspot
Since February 28th, when our newspaper collaborated with the Changchun Consumer Association to conduct a questionnaire survey and complaint activity on driving school training services, nearly a hundred consumers have called the complaint hotline of our newspaper and the municipal consumer association, reflecting the unreasonable treatment they encountered at driving schools. On March 1st, the municipal consumer association summarized the questionnaire and complaint situation over the past three days and found that the random charges by driving schools had become a hot issue for consumer complaints.
One consumer indicated in the questionnaire that he enrolled in a driving school last year and paid 3000 yuan, with the promise of obtaining a license within six months if all exams were passed. If not, free retakes would be provided, and practice sessions would be held at designated locations. However, five months have passed, and he has not even been allowed to take the first subject exam, let alone practice driving. Every time he calls to inquire about the situation, he is given various excuses.
Changchun Consumer Association Deputy Secretary-General Zhong Ping stated that from the current complaint situation, consumers generally reflected the problem of random charges by driving schools. For example, in order to pass all subject exams, one must enroll in an advanced class. However, there is no difference in the practice hours between the so-called advanced class and the regular class, while the price is 4000 yuan higher.
Another issue is that driving schools notify those eager to obtain their licenses that they must pay extra money to take the exam first, citing slow scheduling as the reason. As a result, many people choose to pay extra, leaving those who do not pay waiting indefinitely. In the end, most people who enrolled in the regular class end up graduating from the advanced class.
