Tà gē (Step Song)

The dance Tà Gē, which I saw for the first time during a rehearsal in high school on my dance teacher's video tape, was performed by the Central Academy of Ballet and won first place for creative works at the Xth session of the荷花奖 (Lotus Award). It left me absolutely breathless - whether it be its music style, costumes or movements. It is truly a peak representative work of Chinese classical dance. Since then, there have been many "amateur" groups trying to imitate it, but failing miserably. I once witnessed an embarrassing performance by a certain institute during a Golden Autumn Art Festival at Wuhan University; it was indeed grotesque and a desecration of a classic. After much difficulty, I managed to find the "orthodox heir" interpretation of this timeless classic on QQ Podcast (I didn't expect to find it on QQ Podcast, as I thought the younger generation these days don't know how to appreciate classical art). I'm sharing it here with all of you :)
