For them, the cave is the safest place. According to a report by the *Huashang Daily*, citing a recent article in the French magazine *L'Observateur*, two women, Codon and Bernadette, who are allergic to electromagnetic waves, have taken refuge in a cave on the southeastern Verdon plateau of France. A bold sign at the entrance of the cave prominently reads "Mobile phones prohibited."
The 52-year-old Codon told reporters, "I can't stand electromagnetic waves, whether it's WiFi, mobile phones, or high-voltage lines. As soon as I come into contact with these signals, my whole body feels like it's burning, making it unbearable, as if I've been burned."
Codon said, "I used to teach at the University of Nice. Since January 2009, when the school installed a WiFi network, due to the omnipresent wireless signals, I experienced severe pain all over my body. For a long time, I would park my car in places that had not yet been covered by wireless networks and sleep there all night. Later, even those places were invaded by modern technology. Once, after a brief stay in a cave in Burgundy, my condition improved slightly, and I suddenly had the idea to live in a cave."
"This cave on the Verdon plateau is good, far from modern technological interference. We've also placed some aluminum sheets on top to enhance its ability to block electromagnetic waves, which helps with sinus symptoms. The doctor comes to the cave to see me every week, and I've been classified as a second-level disabled person. I now miss the sunlight outside very much."
The 66-year-old Bernadette, who lives with Codon, stated, "Whenever there are electromagnetic signals, terrible headaches torment me to the point of madness. Only by staying in the cave do I feel better, allowing me to sleep. Besides here, everywhere else is hell."
