Nandu News reporter Cheng Xi - At around 8 pm last night, a man and a woman were found dead in the bathroom of Room 301, No. 30 near the ditch in Labor Team Two Community, Bao'an District, Shenzhen. Both victims were found fully naked. After investigation, the police of Bao'an District preliminarily determined that the cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning due to an accident during their shared bath.

At about 10 pm last night, a Nandu reporter rushed to the scene. The building is a farmer's house covering several hundred square meters with a total of 13 floors. Tenants said that more than a hundred migrant workers lived there.

Witness Mr. Chen stated that the male victim was surnamed Zhu, from Wuhua, Guangdong, born in 1986, and did business nearby. The female victim was his cohabiting girlfriend, surnamed Xiao, from Nanning, Guangxi, born in 1990. Mr. Chen described that neighbors saw the couple laughing together at around 8 pm the previous evening. Not long after, they started bathing, and then the light stayed on all night. When neighbors noticed something unusual, they informed the brother of the male victim. His sister searched everywhere and finally, with the help of the landlord, discovered the accident. Both victims were found fully naked with peaceful expressions.

An informed person mentioned that the toilet in the rented apartment also served as the bathroom, and the surrounding environment lacked ventilation. Moreover, the water heater used was a direct exhaust type that has been banned. When ignited, it produced carbon monoxide that wasn't discharged outside through a pipe but instead directly released inside the bathroom, leading to the tragedy. After the incident, the landlord was temporarily controlled by the police.
