After investigation, since the second half of 2007, Xie carried out odd jobs during the day and roamed around villages in Shifo Temple, Huaqiao, Yuchuan and other places at night with a dagger, flashlight and other tools for committing crimes. He took advantage of the fact that rural women left behind were sound asleep or there were no men at home to sneak into houses, cut off power supply, and engage in theft, robbery, rape, and indecent assault. Over a period of three years, he committed 50 crimes, stealing and robbing property worth more than 100,000 yuan. Currently, this case is still under further review.
According to the police in Wuxue, on March 23, the police received a report from a young woman in Shifo Temple Town who claimed that a man had broken into her house with a knife the previous night and raped her. During their investigation, the police unexpectedly discovered that similar cases were not isolated incidents and mostly occurred in families of rural women left behind. Due to fear of ruining their "reputation," the victims remained silent and did not report the crimes.
Based on the descriptions provided by multiple victims, ten days later, Xie (42 years old) from Xiawu Guo Village in Huajiao Town came into the police's sights. His wife had been sick for many years, leaving the family in poverty. However, in the past two years, he suddenly acquired a motorcycle, a liquid crystal TV, and other high-end appliances, significantly improving his standard of living. Moreover, Xie's physical characteristics matched those described by the victims. The police initially determined that Xie was a suspect and decided to carry out an arrest. On the afternoon of April 6, Xie was captured in Xiawu Guo Village in Huajiao Town, and the police found a large number of items related to the crimes on the scene.
In recent three years, he has committed 50 crimes,涉嫌 theft, robbery, and rape. Yesterday, Xie, the villain from Wuxue, was criminally detained by the police.
