(Photo by Mo Xiongliang) For Wei Yunqiu, 75 years old, formerly known as Han Juhua, and her brother Han Jinyu, 69 years old, the Spring Festival in 2012 was especially joyous and warm, because after being separated for 67 years and losing contact for 47 years, they were finally reunited through the help of the Libo County Public Security Bureau's criminal police and spent the New Year together. In 1942, their mother took 5-year-old Han Juhua and her brother Han Jinyu from Hunan to Guizhou to escape the Japanese invaders. They were robbed by bandits in a mountain hollow in Yao Mountain in Libo, and Han Juhua lost all contact with her family. She was then adopted by a local man named Wei Shunfeng and renamed Wei Yunqiu. In 1963, her brother who had escaped to Guiyang with their mother managed to briefly reconnect with his sister with the help of various sectors of society. However, after the Cultural Revolution in 1965, they lost contact again, and despite numerous attempts to find each other, there was no news. Before the Spring Festival, during the "Three Visits and Three Evaluations" campaign and the "Great Visit" people-oriented activities conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Libo County Public Security Bureau, they learned about the story of Elder Wei Yunqiu and decided to help her fulfill this long-held wish. The criminal police employed unconventional methods used in solving major cases, utilizing public security intelligence information platforms to wage online information and intelligence battles. Through inquiries on the public security information platform, over 500 eligible leads (people) were found within Guizhou Province. After thorough investigation, screening, and comparison, there were still 10 people with the same name and surname considered as key objects. Upon photo identification, Wei Yunqiu felt that retired worker Han Jinyu from Zunyi Steel Rope Factory "looked particularly like" her long-lost brother. After the object was basically confirmed, the Libo criminal police worked day and night, contacting Han Jinyu's son, a teacher at Zunyi Middle School, who confirmed that he had heard his father say that there was a long-lost aunt in Libo. Thus, after 67 years of searching, Elder Wei Yunqiu's long journey to find her family was finally brought to a successful conclusion with the great assistance of the Libo Public Security Bureau's criminal police.
