Our reporter Yuan Guoli - Xu is suspected of taking advantage of the moment when the subway doors closed at Dongdan Station on Line 5 to snatch a passenger's Apple iPhone4. Afterwards, while he was in the subway station using a model to impersonate a real phone and attempting to deceive by sleight of hand, he was arrested. Yesterday, our reporter learned from Changping Procuratorate that Xu was approved for arrest on suspicion of robbery.

The prosecution accused him of the following: On the afternoon of August 4 last year, Xu came to Dongdan Station on Line 5. At this time, a male passenger inside the carriage was standing to the left of the door facing it, playing games on his iPhone4 very intently. After noticing this, Xu also boarded the carriage and stood nearby facing the door. When the train arrived at Beixinqiao Station, as soon as the warning sound for the door closing rang, Xu snatched the phone from this passenger and quickly ran off the train. By the time the passenger realized what happened and prepared to get off and chase, the doors had already closed.

Three months later, Xu once again came to Line 5 of the subway. This time, he was with his accomplice Yu Mou, selling iPhones to passengers at Huixin West Street Station. They first let the passengers see the real phone, but when it came to the actual transaction, they gave them a phone model worth 20 yuan instead. Subway police officers noticed the two individuals, took them to the police room for questioning, and found several phone models and a real iPhone4 on Xu. This real phone was the one that had been snatched from the subway passenger. Prosecutors remind that when riding the subway, one must be vigilant, not just engrossed in playing games or listening to music, and take care of their own property safety. Also, for items being sold at low prices, don't be greedy for cheap deals.
