The media recently exposed that Skyllberg had been living in his car since the summer of 2011 and was also a regular customer at the local gas station. Despite Skyllberg claiming that he only survived by drinking melted snow water, investigators believe he also consumed ointments from the car. The police initially thought he was trapped in the car during an adventure, but Andreas Östensson, the owner of the local gas station, said that Skyllberg had been living in the forest and sleeping in his car since the summer of 2011. He often visited the gas station and nearby stores, buying hot dogs and coffee. Östensson said that the last time he saw Skyllberg, towards the end of last year, his health appeared to be fine. He claimed that he had driven all over Sweden and stayed there because he liked it. Skyllberg looked good, dressed in camping gear, with a clean-shaven face and generally hygienic appearance. However, the fact that such a person chose to live alone in a car for a long time is hard to understand. In reality, Skyllberg lost his house due to being unable to pay his mortgage and had it confiscated by the court. Moreover, he broke up with his girlfriend. A friend of Skyllberg’s recently claimed that he went missing in May last year to avoid debts.
