The first feature is user contribution. For example, eBay, Taobao, these platforms themselves have no content. They only provide services to users, and the content value inside completely comes from user contributions. Therefore, eBay and Taobao also reflect Web 2.0 and have the characteristics of Web 2.0.
The second feature is called network effect, which means that if the connection between each user is not utilized, then this tool is just a one-way tool. Some blogs only have publishing functions, without comment functions, checkback functions, or tag functions, making it difficult to achieve coupling with the outside world, thus failing to realize network effects or dialogic effects among people.
The third feature is called the long-tail effect. The long-tail effect is also very easy to understand. For instance, some blog services are good at utilizing market forces, featuring many celebrities. But even with many celebrities, can there be ten million or twenty million celebrities? That's impossible. The ultimate power of blogs comes from anonymous authors who write, create, and share with the people around them. At the same time, they are also readers of blogs. The effects brought by these people will produce accumulative results, and these accumulative results have greater effects than those produced by so-called celebrities. Therefore, we call this the long-tail effect.
The fourth feature is co-creation. Many achievements do not come from the wisdom of an individual but may start from someone, and then the entire matter moves forward to create a superimposed form. Another person may come along and create a new form, and they jointly develop in a vector direction. The creation of online encyclopedias is the result of such an effect - co-creation.
The fifth feature is decentralization. Decentralization forms diversity on the network as well as the social evaluation effect of knowledge.
The sixth feature is hybrid creativity. It means that two different things can be put together to produce a third thing. It allows users to generate a new kind of creativity.
The seventh feature is called the explicit-implicit system. After you create and share, if you openly accept interaction, it will bring many unexpected effects.
