The Wild Elephant Valley is located in the southern part of the Mengyang Nature Reserve in Jinghong City, Xishuangbanna Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is the most concentrated and frequent area for wild elephants' activities. Visitors can see real wild elephants walking from the forest to this place for food. Sometimes, before it gets dark, wild elephants stroll leisurely beside the elevated corridor, pausing occasionally to look at these "unexpected guests." Sometimes several herds of wild elephants appear in the valley at the same time, with their roars echoing continuously as they drive each other, making first-time visitors from afar feel nervous.
Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park
Xishuangbanna Primitive Forest Park is one of the largest comprehensive ecological tourism attractions in Xishuangbanna. The park combines unique primitive forest natural scenery with charming ethnic customs. Inside the park, there is the best-preserved tropical rainforest south of the Tropic of Cancer, peacock breeding bases, monkey training bases, large ethnic custom performance venues, Aini Village, Nine Dragons Waterfall, Manshuanglong White Pagoda, hundred-meter granite relief sculpture, Jinhu Legend, and ethnic flavor barbecue areas. Transportation:
1. Xishuangbanna is over 500 kilometers away from Kunming. A full highway has been opened, taking about 9 hours for the entire journey. There are more than twenty daily sleeper buses or express coaches from Kunming to Jinghong.
2. Currently, direct flights to Xishuangbanna are available from all major cities across the country. Xishuangbanna International Airport also offers international flights to Myanmar, Laos, and other places. The airport is 5 kilometers away from the urban area of Jinghong.

Xishuangbanna is a popular tourist destination. There are various star-rated hotels in Jinghong city, offering rooms at suitable prices based on individual needs. The hotel conditions are quite good, with complete facilities.
Cuisine:
The residents of Xishuangbanna are mainly Dai people. Dai cuisine enjoys a prestigious reputation in the Yunnan cuisine system. Dai dishes are primarily made from glutinous rice, sour flavors, roasted meats, and aquatic foods, often using wild cultivated plants as spices, showcasing unique ethnic flavors. The布朗people have the saying, "Not eating roasted meat means not tasting the aroma of meat." Thus, they roast many things, including mountain rat meat, pigeon meat, fish, pork, beef; additionally, there are stone-fresh fish soup, crab powder, raw minced crab meat, fried flower spiders, cicada sauce, wrapped fresh fish, sour vegetables (sour meat, sour fish, sour bamboo shoots), etc.
Shopping:
The tropical rainforest of Xishuangbanna hides rich biological treasures and is known as the "Kingdom of Flora and Fauna" and "Herbal Medicine Hometown." Whether in scenic spots or downtown areas, Dai women sell Dai-style clothing, gold and silver jewelry, black pottery utensils, elephant wood carvings, bamboo woven handicrafts, tropical dried fruit preserves, tea, and more. Prices are reasonable, and bargaining is possible.
Reminder: Most "Myanmar Jade" items purchased at markets are fake. Avoid greed for small profits and prefer reputable large shopping malls, requesting invoices.

Located between Jinghong North Road and Galan Middle Road, the market offers a wide variety of goods, including jade, sculptures, tea, Dai costumes, even Thai products, all available.
Entertainment:
Man Ting Park is said to be the oldest park in Xishuangbanna. Over a thousand years ago, it was the garden of the Dai King. The "Lancang River·Mekong River Night" song and dance evening held here should not be missed. This performance gathers the characteristics of various countries along the Mekong River, featuring the folk customs of ethnic minorities such as the Dai, Hani, and Lahu peoples, as well as cultural displays from Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and other countries. The performance starts around 7:30 PM when the sky just begins to darken. Bonfires are lit at the venue, continuously pushing the atmosphere to its peak. As night falls, the dancers gradually enter their best state, interacting with tourists, allowing everyone to personally immerse themselves in this passionate environment. Tourists thus feel closer to Xishuangbanna.
