Any time an individual refers to a polo tank top or golf attire, they are essentially referring to a tennis shirt. This type of shirt features a collar, a few buttons at the front placket, and side slits at the bottom. It may or may not have a pocket. The most commonly used knitted material for making a tennis tank top is pique cotton. Sometimes polyester, merino wool, or synthetic fibers are also used. It was a Frenchman named Rene Lacoste, a 7-time tennis Grand Slam champion, who first introduced tennis clothing. He thought of making changes in tennis attire because, during the 19th to early 20th century, tennis players wore long-sleeved shirts, trousers, and ties to the court. These outfits were more suited for office workers since the stiff collars and ties were too rigid for comfort. Lacoste's design, named after himself, consisted of a thick collar, a loose non-starched pique cotton shirt with side slits at the bottom and a longer shirt-tail at the back. The reason for the easily upturnable collar, which was heavier than the shirt, was to protect the tennis player's neck from sunburns. Interestingly, polo players had already been using this design since the late 19th century. Before Lacoste's tennis clothing design made its debut in 1929, polo players wore heavy Oxford-cloth cotton long-sleeved shirts with button-down collars. Although the collar design kept the wind from constantly flapping it down, the polo shirt back then was generally inconvenient to use. Therefore, when they discovered Lacoste's line of tennis shirts in the 1930s, they didn't hesitate to adopt his design. It wasn't long before the term "polo shirt" became synonymous with a golf top. I liked this shirt so much that I went back and bought several more in other colors. Surprisingly soft texture for such sturdy material. Good for everyday wear or with a nice little skirt for the office. By the 1950s, polo shirts were commonly regarded as part of the standard tennis attire in the United States. Perhaps the tennis players themselves called their attire a polo shirt. In fact, this shirt was first worn on a tennis court rather than in a polo game and had a longer history in the tennis sports world. In 1967, the popularity of men's polo shirts skyrocketed when Ralph Lauren included men's polo shirts as a key product in his original clothing line called Polo. Although these shirts weren't meant to be worn for polo games, Laurens' men's polo shirts were an excellent replica of the then official polo attire. As golf clothing became more casual and less formal in the 20th century moonbasa, golf also adopted the tennis top as its normal attire. Most golfers today, both men and women alike, are wearing tennis shirts. For women, golf tops can be customized in various colors. But since golf is an entirely different game from tennis, it requires a different style of cut for the tennis top, leading to the nickname golf tank top. Since the tennis top is so commonly worn in modern society, it has its own niche in the market. Because both men and women use it in any and every occasion, almost every fashion company started to design at least one model or variation of Lacoste's golf tank top for non-athletic purposes. Simultaneously, tennis shirts are just the perfect alternative clothing for jobs where round collar t-shirts are considered inappropriate but traditional business attire is deemed overdressed, like for semi-professional and store staff. Haven't washed this shirt yet, so I don’t know how it will hold up, but I like how it fits and feels, and you sure can’t beat the price. Very flattering for a woman’s figure. Tennis shirts are commonly recognized as smart and casual wear. Its rugged and ready design also makes it a preferred tank top for those working outdoors, including field guides and laborers. In the 1990s, the tennis shirt became the standard business casual/casual attire for the high-tech industry and then spread to other sectors. Business logos are often printed on these golf shirts to be used as custom corporate and business apparel. Some government officials in India wear tennis shirts as regular work attire. Tennis shirts are indeed quite fashionable in sports. Officials such as caddies, some older golf experts Hackett Sale, umpires, and sports announcers frequently wear golf shirts. Additionally, tennis shirts are also popular in many schools, especially junior high schools. Both boys and girls wear tennis shirts as part of their mandatory school uniforms. Because golf shirts are closely associated with sports, they come in all sorts of light shades. The most common color is white. The modern golf shirt has a specific feature called a tennis butt. This design is derived from Lacoste's original, where the back is cut a few centimeters longer than the front so that when the tennis player leans forward, the shirt still remains tucked properly into their pants. Moreover, the tennis shirt collar can be easily turned up to protect the player's neck from the sun. The tennis tank top or polo tank top will continue to occupy a distinct niche in the fashion industry, regardless of changing styles and times. It has become an essential wear in our lives.
