I. Full glue coating as primer
Roadside guerrilla teams and irregular small companies may directly apply putty after repairing the base layer for convenience or cost saving. In fact, there is an indispensable step of rolling glue in between. After repairing the base layer, the wall should be rolled with glue first, then wait for the glue to dry before applying putty to ensure the tight adhesion between the new coating and the existing base layer, avoiding problems such as shell lifting and cracking on the painted wall again. Common 801 construction glue can be used.
II. Key repair of cracks
Wall cracks are divided into several types according to different causes. For slight cracks, they can be directly filled with putty powder mixed with glue, but for more serious wall cracks, they need to be treated differently. Due to the settlement of the original wall or improper treatment of the base layer, some walls will have relatively serious cracks. When renovating, it is necessary to remove the coating and use crack-sealing corner paper tape for key repairs, then roll glue, apply putty, primer, and topcoat.
III. Waterproof and anti-mildew treatment
The walls around doors and windows are often exposed to rain and prone to mildew. Corners like wall angles, behind sofas, and air conditioners also tend to mold and discolor over time. During renovation, it's not only necessary to solve old problems but also take preventive measures to avoid new ones.
For moldy and discolored walls, during renovation, the coating must be removed, waterproof and anti-mildew treatments must be done first, and then follow the normal steps to complete the construction process. In addition to a separate waterproof layer, the paint and coatings used in each construction step should preferably have waterproof functions, especially the primer.
