After trial, it was found that the suspects, Chen and two others confessed that after drinking with victims Wu and Geng and others on the night in question, they argued over seating on the way home. They stabbed Wu in the left leg with a knife, causing his death due to hemorrhagic shock, while Geng sustained minor injuries.
On February 7, China News Service of Nan'an reported (Lin Yongchuan, Guo Bin, Dai Jiechao) - Invited to drink together at a nightclub, they planned to take a car home after drinking but ended up stabbing each other over the issue of who would sit where in the car, ultimately resulting in one death and one injury.
On the 7th, the Nan'an police disclosed to the public: After 31 hours of continuous operation and brave efforts, the Nan'an police successfully solved an intentional harm case leading to death, arresting Zhang (male, 22 years old, from Tongren City, Guizhou Province), Liu (male, 31 years old, from Wannian County, Jiangxi Province), and Chen (male, 24 years old, from Bijie City, Guizhou Province).
With the cooperation of the two captured individuals, the special investigation team followed up and arrested another suspect, Chen, at around 10:30 am on February 2nd in a rented house in Chenda Town, Jinjiang City. Thus, all three suspects in this case were captured.
At around 12 pm on February 1st, the special investigation team arrested the suspect Liu in Yangguang Hotel, Shishi City. That evening at 9 pm, they also arrested the suspect Zhang in a leisure club in Zhangpu County, Zhangzhou City.
Currently, all three suspects have been criminally detained, and the case is under further review.
According to the police, at around 4 am on February 1st, 2012, the 110 command center received a report from the public stating that an intentional harm case occurred outside the Jinzhou Nightclub in Shijing Town, resulting in the death of a man who could not be saved after being sent to the hospital, and another man was injured. The forensic doctor determined that the deceased Wu (male, 22 years old, from Yangxin County, Hubei Province) died from hemorrhagic shock due to being stabbed in the left femoral artery, while the other man, Geng, was slightly injured.
After the incident, the Nan'an police immediately activated the homicide investigation mechanism. Director Fu Qingsheng and Commissioner Li Qun rushed to the scene to organize and direct the investigation work, and more than 30 elite police forces from the criminal investigation team and the Shijing Border Defense Police Station formed a special investigation team to carry out the investigation work. Through a series of investigative works including interviewing all people who had contact with the victim on the night in question and retrieving video footage from the hotel and its surroundings, the special investigation team quickly identified three men, Zhang, Liu, and Chen, who drank with the victim that night as having significant suspicion of committing the crime, and subsequently began control and capture operations.
