On the official release day, it ranked 10th on the IPAD paid chart. This is after TOM's first free-download mobile game - IMOLE Mobile Edition "Mole Farm" launched in October, which saw over 1 million downloads within three months, another one of TOM’s works appearing at the forefront of Apple's rankings.
Insiders close to TOM revealed that encouraged by the positive market response to these two mobile games, TOM may increase its investment in wireless business in 2012, even allocating a dedicated floor for TOM Wireless Division offices. Recently, on relevant recruitment forums, it's easy to find job advertisements for TOM recruiting wireless-related technical personnel.
Notably, "Mole Kart" continues the character image from TOM's previous mobile game "Mole Farm", transforming Mole into a racer. Although the gameplay of this game is entirely different from the mobile version of Mole Farm, due to the consistent Mole character image, it has already become familiar through the mobile edition of Mole Farm.
There are reports that TOM might continue with this approach, continuously launching new mobile games based on the Mole Farm image with different gameplay. However, TOM insiders stated that it's currently not convenient to disclose the character design and gameplay setting for the company's next mobile game product.
It is understood that TOM is preparing to launch electronic book products based on IPAD, combining the functions of books and games. The related products will be released no later than February.
