A relevant person in charge of Leyou Maternity and Infant Goods, one of the enterprises on the list, said that they hoped that the state would give certain support to e-commerce enterprises in terms of logistics policies. They wished that a public disclosure system for trustworthy enterprises could be established to create a more favorable environment for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. After three rounds of publicizing the candidate list to the society, the Ministry of Commerce officially announced the list of model e-commerce enterprises yesterday (August 18, 2011). Vancl, JD Mall, Dangdang.com, Joyo Amazon and 83 other enterprises made it to the list. The Ministry of Commerce stated that after successfully completing the annual goals and tasks, they would strengthen tracking and research on the model enterprises and further increase policy support. Industry experts revealed that with the exploration and advancement of demonstration work, relevant regulations and standards in the e-commerce field were expected to be issued successively as early as next year. Wang Jian revealed that "currently, relevant regulations and standards are being further discussed and formulated, and it is expected that they will be issued successively as early as next year." Wang Jian, Director of the E-Commerce Laboratory at the School of International Trade and Economics of the University of International Business and Economics, said that due to some existing problems in consumer rights protection, risk prevention, intellectual property protection, data and asset protection, etc., in the e-commerce field, it was very urgent to establish targeted regulations and standards for the e-commerce field. Currently, the Ministry of Commerce has issued some reference norms such as transaction guidance norms, but there are still some gaps and loopholes in the management of transactions and market segments, and government departments should participate in the work of maintaining the order of the online market. Secretary Lin Ya of the Beijing E-Commerce Association pointed out that the list of model enterprises was not permanent. In addition to the industry and commerce department, the Beijing E-Commerce Association would also supervise the brand, scale, complaint volume, service quality, honest operation, and other aspects of e-commerce enterprises. If the association received relevant complaints, it would require the enterprise to handle them.
