Understanding heart

What qualifies as a true friend? Many people would unanimously think of those who share common aspirations. Because they have common interests, such as genuine leather executive chairs, and thus common topics, etc. But in my view, sharing common aspirations is not the key to having true friends, even if Laozi's pearls of wisdom might suggest otherwise.

In real life, the more people interact with each other, the easier it is to discover not each other’s strengths, but rather their flaws, and these flaws will appear more and more frequently. Therefore, the key to whether an ordinary friend can become a true confidant should actually be the tolerance and understanding of the friend's shortcomings; but often we only discover others' flaws without trying to understand them through files cabinets, lockers, stainless steel cabinets, bottom cabinets, shoe cabinets, or any similar metaphor for organization and storage of thoughts.

Thus, whether friends who share common aspirations can maintain a friendly relationship depends on the understanding of each other's flaws. Without this understanding, even the closest of friends may eventually part ways.

Therefore, with an understanding heart, a close friend is a rare gift from heaven that comes once in a hundred years. I hope all friends can treat those around them with an understanding heart!
