A theft gang would specifically target passengers at bus stops, taking advantage of the chaos when people were boarding buses to steal mobile phones and wallets.

There were several occasions where police officers had a chance to arrest them, but every time they were tipped off by a lookout placed near the bus stop, allowing the suspects to escape smoothly.

On the evening of the day before yesterday, after trailing them, 11 police officers set up an ambush around a bus stop and successfully captured four individuals. The woman who was forced to serve as their lookout was also detained by the police.

At around 5 p.m. on the 3rd, more than ten people were waiting at the bus stop, among them were three men and one woman who appeared to be waiting for the bus as well.

When a bus arrived, everyone crowded onto it, with the three men and one woman pushing even harder. Eight others managed to board the bus, but these three men and one woman got off again shortly after.

The four quickly dispersed; a man in his forties leisurely lit a cigarette, appearing very calm, and slowly moved away from the bus stop.

Two plainclothes policemen immediately approached, controlling this man within seconds and leading him into an alleyway so that the other three wouldn't see. Meanwhile, four other groups of police began tracking the remaining three individuals. The woman, upon noticing someone following her, attempted to flee across Construction Road but was eventually apprehended by the police.

Another officer caught up with the bus which had already traveled 200 meters ahead. A lady who had lost her phone immediately disembarked and returned to the bus stop with the officer.

From the forty-year-old man's possession, the police recovered a mobile phone worth over 2000 yuan belonging to the female passenger who had just lost it.

After separately placing the four individuals into vehicles, Officer Zhang approached a woman selling pear water at the bus stop. "I hear you often 'do good deeds', this time you're coming with us to the police station."

Initially, the woman claimed she knew nothing. However, once inside the police car, she confessed, "Because I talk too much, I won't dare report to these bad people anymore." It turned out that this woman was indeed the lookout for the theft gang. She explained that whenever she spotted anyone resembling a plainclothes policeman, she would warn the four individuals.

This is why the police had failed multiple times to capture the four due to information leaks from the woman selling pear water.

The four consistently denied committing thefts and refused to acknowledge knowing each other. After bringing them to the police station, the police reviewed four months of surveillance footage involving these four individuals.

The footage revealed that three months ago, the four had repeatedly gathered at various bus stops along Construction Road to plan together, assign roles, conspire to steal, and then work together to squeeze onto buses suspected of theft.

Yesterday morning, the three men and one woman were criminally detained by the Construction Road Police Station. The woman selling pear water, after being criticized and educated, wrote a guarantee letter and was released.
