China Anji White Tea Network Information: Culture, after being deposited over time, appears profound and deep. Only brands with a strong cultural backing have the energy for long-term development, just like a long-distance runner needs good stamina. The mysterious and long history of Anji White Tea is a highlight in its brand construction.

Anji White Tea has actually been around for a long time as a variety of tea, but it was lost and rediscovered again in the 1980s. To clarify its origins is to set things right.

Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty wrote in "Daguan Cha Lun": "White tea is a kind of tea, different from regular tea. Its twigs spread out, and its leaves are bright and thin. It grows occasionally between cliffs and forests, not by human effort. There are only four or five families who produce it, with only one or two plants, making only two or three catties... Imperially granted white tea thus became the first inscription."

Although Emperor Huizong was not a good emperor, he had rare literary cultivation and artistic temperament. His specialized work, "Daguan Cha Lun," also holds a high historical status. So, is the white tea mentioned here the same as today's Anji White Tea? As one of the six major types of tea, white tea is produced in many places besides Anji, such as Fujian, Anhui, and Shengzhou.

Experts have conducted serious and rigorous research and verification, confirming that Anji White Tea is a different concept from Bai Hao Yin Zhen and Bai Mu Dan in China's six major tea categories. Bai Hao Yin Zhen and Bai Mu Dan refer to white tea made from young leaves with green downy hair, where the whiteness comes from processing; while Anji White Tea is a famous green tea processed according to the method of green tea from the white tender leaves of a special white leaf tea variety, where the jade color comes from the variety itself. Anji White Tea is both a rare variety of tea tree and a precious brand name of white tea.

Experts further concluded that Anji White Tea is indeed the white tea mentioned in Emperor Huizong's "Daguan Cha Lun." The origin of Bai Hao Yin Zhen in Fuding, Fujian, dates back to 1796. Therefore, from this timeline, Anji White Tea predates the white tea among China's six major tea categories by nearly seven centuries.

With the opportunity of history and time, and recognition from experts and scholars in China's tea studies field, Anji White Tea officially established its brand and name in 2002. Since then, Anji White Tea, backed by history and cultural heritage, has become more confident and gained greater fame than before.

The accumulation of brand culture is not easy, and the Anji government has taken it very seriously in terms of construction and accumulation. In April 2001, the "2001 China - Anji White Tea Festival" was grandly held in Anji, hosted by the Chinese Anji White Tea Price Association, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences Anji White Tea Price Research Institute, and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture, with the Anji County People's Government as the organizer. Anji County was named "China's White Tea Hometown" by the China Famous and Special Towns and Publicity Activities Organizing Committee. Currently, white tea has become one of the main contents of Anji's annual ecological cultural festival. In 2002, the Xilong Township, the main production area of white tea, which first carried out the cutting cultivation of white tea, built the Baicha Fairy Site Park, and the Baicha Theme Park was completed in Dìpù, the seat of the Anji County government. In 2003, the Anji White Tea King was granted the title of "White Tea Ancestor," and the Baicha Valley was developed into an Anji tourist attraction.
