The True Meaning of Growing Flowers
I have a deep passion for growing flowers because it not only cultivates one's temperament but also imparts profound truths about life. In interacting with them, you need to understand their individual natures—some prefer shade, others sunlight; some thrive in dampness, while others prefer dryness; some are inherently delicate, and others possess vigorous vitality... Just like people, they are all unique and full of surprises. Once you grasp their respective living habits, leverage their strengths, cater to their preferences, and they will bring you immense joy. However, if you go against their nature, they will subtly hint at their displeasure through their body language—appearing listless as if suffering from heatstroke or bearing injuries as if struck by adversity.
I remember an instance when I moved a spider plant from the living room to the balcony so that it could bask fully in the sun. Within a few days, it seemed unable to endure the change, its lush green leaves appearing scorched and struggling on the brink of life and death. It was then I realized that plants, like humans, require time to adapt to new environments. If relocated, they might experience discomfort akin to "culture shock."
Interacting with them demands sincerity—you must water them promptly when necessary. Those requiring thorough watering shouldn't be shortchanged, and those needing less should not be overwatered. Fertilization must be timely to provide essential nutrients, and one must never approach this task half-heartedly or perfunctorily.
Cultivating them is akin to nurturing a child, demanding meticulous care. Any stray branches must be pruned promptly during their growth. In summer, with ample sunshine and suitable temperatures, all things flourish. You may hear them whispering softly in the dead of night as they grow rapidly. In the morning, they proudly display their achievements. Unbeknownst to you, shy flower buds might be hidden among the leaves, or new sprouts might be quietly emerging from the soil in the embrace of their mother plant. Each day brings new discoveries, each day offers new surprises.
Watching them grow day by day fills your heart with immense joy. Nowadays, my calla lilies have reached the fourth generation within this harmonious family where they coexist peacefully, respecting each other, sharing hardships, and surviving together. Gazing at my masterpiece fills my heart with indescribable happiness!
When you're feeling down, if you visit them, they will comfort you in their own special way; when you're ecstatic, they will dance gracefully with you; when your eyes feel strained, they will soothe your fatigue with their vibrant colors...
In essence, growing flowers is akin to interacting with people—it is endlessly enjoyable and leaves lasting impressions!
