There are very few universities in Canada that offer accounting programs at the master's level - only four universities do so. In Quebec, there are no entrance exams for master's programs; instead, they require consistency with your undergraduate major or alternatively, you can apply for a management program within the business field. Recently, the Quebec government has launched the "Exemption Scholarship" project to attract talent. The application materials for the Exemption Scholarship include: bachelor's degree certificate, 3-year academic transcript, birth certificate, bank deposit certificate of 350,000 yuan guarantee fund, and proof of TCF French score of 430 points. During the university application phase, language scores are not required, and universities can issue dual acceptance notices for language plus professional courses. When reporting to the university and entering the professional course, a score of 430 is required, and with this score, you can also obtain the Exemption Scholarship.
For senior year students or bachelor's degree graduates:
Pathway One: Apply for a research-based master's degree
The minimum requirements for admission to Canadian research-based master's programs are:
1. Bachelor's degree, with an average university score of at least 80 or above;
2. Undergraduate professional background, generally cannot change majors except for MBA;
3. TCF score of 430 or above;
4. Preferably have GRE scores for science and engineering;
5. Business programs such as finance and MBA generally require GMAT scores.
Most master's degrees in Canada are research-based, consisting of 4-8 courses plus a master's thesis. Since fewer than 60 universities offer master's degrees, competition is very intense. It is best if students have already contacted a supervisor; if the supervisor is willing to accept them, the application process will be easier.
Pathway Two: Apply for a Canadian professional master's (taught)
Full-time regular university bachelor's degree graduates (including students currently in their senior year); an average score of 75% or above over four years of undergraduate study; intermediate or above language proficiency: TCF score of 430 or above, or other equivalent exams.
