Harbin Mobile recently placed the following advertisement in a local newspaper: users who supply their own iPhone can sign up for a designated China Mobile package and receive up to 4272 yuan of free call credit. This is another example of borderline marketing since China Unicom launched the iPhone 4 in 2010, after which many China Mobile branches launched their own versions of the iPhone 4 package. At the moment, China Mobile has been unable to obtain the rights to sell the iPhone due to its own 3G system and other reasons, but large numbers of mobile users are still using the iPhone. In October last year, Chairman of China Mobile, Wang Jianzhou, revealed that there were 10 million iPhone users on China Mobile's network at the time. An early reporter called Harbin Mobile's customer service hotline yesterday, and a representative explained that this contract had already been introduced on January 20th this year. The plan is divided into five levels: 88 yuan, 128 yuan, 158 yuan, 188 yuan, and 288 yuan. It is named the Global Access Business Travel Package, with contracts bound for 24 months. Users can receive a minimum of 1056 yuan or a maximum of 4272 yuan of call credit. The representative also expressed that the characteristic of the iPhone package is the length of the calls, which is longer than other packages of the same level in the Global Access Business Travel range, making it convenient for users to roam nationwide. However, I also noticed that each of the five levels of the package only include 30M of data per month, which is insufficient for iPhone users who use their phone to surf the Internet.
