Emei Mountain: Ethereal Energy Purifies the Dust
Emei Mountain is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. It is located to the southwest of Leshan City, Sichuan Province. The main peak, Wanfo Summit, has an altitude of 3099 meters, with a height difference of 2500 meters from the base of the mountain, spanning across three climatic zones: subtropical, temperate, and sub-frigid zones. Emei Mountain is renowned for its beauty as "the most beautiful under heaven" and also famous for its coolness, making it a popular destination even during the hot summer season when visitors can escape the heat.
Emei Mountain is among the top ten most beautiful famous mountains in China and one of the most influential tourism brands. In the high-altitude area of Emei Mountain, the main peak, Jinding (Golden Summit), symbolizes Emei Mountain. Surrounded by cliffs and piercing into the clouds, it serves as the grandest viewing platform and worship center. The majestic and solemn Golden Hall, Bronze Hall, and Silver Hall all face the world's tallest four-sided, ten-direction Samantabhadra golden statue. This statue gathers the essence of heaven and earth, reflecting the brilliance of the sun and moon. Seated on an elephant and lotus pedestal, surrounded by misty clouds, the Buddha’s presence allows visitors to truly feel the harmony between scenery and divinity, creating a celestial court on earth. The four great wonders of Jinding – sea of clouds, sunrise, Buddha’s light, and sacred lamps – have fascinated and captivated people since ancient times.
