As early as 2002, Hertz Car Rental, the international automobile rental giant, entered the Chinese market. Hertz has more than 8,500 outlets worldwide and owns nearly 550,000 vehicles. Hertz is the largest and most famous car rental company in the world, offering a wide range of vehicle models for you to choose from, airport pick-up and drop-off services, and short-term rental services such as daily, weekly, and monthly rentals. The rental outlets cover airports, city centers, suburban commercial centers, residential areas, and tourist attractions. Today, Hertz's booking centers around the world handle nearly 40 million calls annually and complete nearly 30 million car rental bookings. As the leader in the global car rental industry, Hertz has more than 8,500 outlets in the United States and 145 countries worldwide. Hertz's wholly-owned subsidiaries include Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation (HERC), which provides various construction and industrial equipment for contractors, industrial enterprises, and government agencies, and sells high-quality used equipment. Hertz Claims Management Company, a third-party liability claims management company, serves large companies, self-insured entities, and insurance markets. With the rise of self-driving tours and changes in travel methods, the car rental industry has begun to target this "big cake" and enter the tourism market in China. Industry insiders said that the annual growth rate of China's car rental market is about 20% to 30%. A conservative estimate suggests that by 2015, the demand for leased vehicles in China's car rental market will reach 300,000 to 400,000 units, with operating revenue reaching 18 billion yuan. From the current market situation, renting a car for self-driving has become a new choice for traveling. However, from the current audience base, it is still predominantly young people. In terms of market development trends, a stable quadripartite situation has basically formed in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou. Regarding Hertz Car Rental, founded in 1918, Hertz has always been at the forefront of industry development and is a strong advocate of environmental protection concepts. In North America, Hertz has over 35,000 environmentally friendly vehicles. Last year, Hertz began promoting its global eco-friendly vehicle fleet plan. So far, Nissan LEAFs, Renaults, and Tesla Roadsters have been launched in New York, Washington, San Francisco in the United States, and Europe. Hertz's car rental services in Europe and North America are combined with its car-sharing platform "Hertz On Demand" (formerly known as "Connect by Hertz"). After registered members complete the rental procedures online, they can directly go to the Hertz shared vehicle parking lot, swipe their card to start the car, and begin their wonderful journey. When returning the car, the service fee is deducted directly from the prepaid card on an hourly basis. Combining eco-friendly vehicle fleets with convenient car-sharing platforms can not only greatly alleviate traffic pressure but also provide practical solutions to address environmental pollution problems.
