From toner to primer, all brands have prepared plenty of new products, aiming to thoroughly renew the skin in March. It's about skill rather than brute force; everyone needs to re-study their whitening routine to truly become a master of whitening.

Q: Why does the skin get darker?

A: To protect against UV damage. Human skin has cells called melanocytes that produce melanin to help protect the skin from UV damage. Melanin moves to the surface of the skin with keratin protein cells, and metabolism will metabolize these melanins to restore the skin’s original color. However, if metabolism is slow and melanocytes cannot be normally metabolized, it can cause melanin deposition, making the skin darker or forming spots.

Q: Can people who are naturally dark-skinned become fairer through proper care?

A: Whitening isn't about unlimited brightening. Truly healthy and radiant skin is naturally glowing from the deeper layers to the surface. The whiteness of your skin has its limits; the skin on the inner thigh is the baseline for how fair you can become. Check the skin on the inner thigh that doesn’t get sun exposure – that’s the fairest you can achieve.

Q: If I stay indoors and don’t get sun exposure, will my skin not darken?

A: Don't think that hiding indoors means your skin won't suffer from UV damage. Long-wave ultraviolet rays (UVA) can penetrate through glass windows, and fluorescent lights also emit UV rays, which can stimulate the production of melanin in the skin. Additionally, indoor air conditioning environments can cause dryness and dehydration, leading to fine lines and wrinkles.

Q: Why do Asian women more easily develop spots?

A: Ozone layer depletion, environmental pollution, and UV issues are more severe in Asia. The heat immune proteins in our bodies are harmed by climate and environmental changes, reducing secretion and failing to properly protect the skin. Melanocytes then frequently secrete melanin, so Asians face more serious issues with melanin formation.

Whitening Diagnosis for Four Different Skin Types

1. Dull/Yellowish Complexion

- After washing your face, quickly apply skincare products. Not applying them immediately after washing can make the skin even drier. Slightly damp skin absorbs products better.

- Eat more whitening foods to enhance your whitening ability. Eating foods rich in vitamin C helps reduce melanin, while avoiding spicy and stimulating foods is recommended.

- Don’t forget hydration while whitening. Using only whitening masks isn’t enough. Combining whitening and hydrating products works best, as they are gentle and non-irritating.
