At around 9 o'clock this morning, while checking the passengers who were about to board a flight to Sanya, security personnel at Baiyun Airport found that the photograph on Mr. Liu's ID card was significantly different from his current appearance. The Mr. Liu in person has a thin triangular face, whereas the picture showed an obese round face. Therefore, the security staff asked him for further verification. Mr. Liu explained that the picture was taken three years ago and he had lost more than 30 jin (15kg) since then. To prove what he said was true, Mr. Liu presented all of his identification documents including his work permit and driver’s license. All the information on these documents matched consistently. Coincidentally, the photo on the driver’s license was taken after he had lost weight and all the information on it also matched with his ID card. After careful verification, the security personnel eventually confirmed that the ID belonged to Mr. Liu himself and allowed him to board the plane. Based on this incident, security reminds passengers that if their appearance has changed significantly, they should go to the issuing authority to update their photos to avoid unnecessary trouble.
