Basic principles of plant planting design

I. Follow the basic principles of artistic composition.

1. Contrast and harmony principle. When designing plant landscapes, there should be certain differences and changes in tree shape, color, line, texture, and proportion to display the diversity of plants; while maintaining a certain degree of similarity to form a sense of unity, so that it is lively and harmonious at the same time. The contrast method is often used in the design to highlight the theme.

2. Balance and stability principle. Appropriate representation of lightness and heaviness on the plane is balance; suitable expression of lightness and heaviness in the vertical direction is stability.

3. Rhythm and cadence principle. Regular repetition of individual plant configurations with intermittent changes can produce rhythm in sequence repetition and cadence in rhythm changes.

4. Proportion and scale principle. Proportion refers to the appropriate relationship in the size of scenic objects in the garden, including both the proportion relationships between the length, width, and height of parts of the scenic objects themselves, and the proportion relationships between the scenic objects, individuals and the whole.

II. Meet the nature and functional requirements of garden greening. Garden plant planting design should start from the nature and main functions of the garden green space, choosing plant species and suitable planting forms.

III. Conform to the overall planning form of the garden. The plant landscape of the garden must conform to the general plan of the garden, reflecting the characteristics of the plant landscape of the garden green space, and properly handling the relationship between plants and other garden elements such as mountains, water, buildings, roads, etc., making them an organic whole.

IV. Changes in the four seasons scenery. The seasonal changes of garden plants can give visitors a clear feeling of climate change, reflect the seasonal changes of the garden, and demonstrate the unique artistic effect of garden plants.

V. Give full play to the ornamental characteristics of garden plants. When designing plants, we should consider various ornamental effects comprehensively according to the characteristics of the plants themselves, and reasonably configure plastic drainage boards.

VI. Meet the ecological requirements of garden plants. Adapt measures to local conditions, choose appropriate trees for the site, unify the ecological habits of the plants themselves with the ecological conditions of the planting site.

VII. Reasonable planting density and matching. When matching plants, we should take into account the combination of fast-growing trees and slow-growing trees, evergreen trees and deciduous trees, arbor and shrubs, foliage plants and flowering plants, lawns and ground covers, etc., to create stable plant communities.

VIII. Economic principle. In addition to planting costs, maintenance costs after planting should also be considered.

Taishan Boson Greening Center in Taian City mainly operates forest fruit greening seedlings. The main seedlings include Shandong cherry blossoms, Shandong greening seedlings, Shandong red-leaf peach, Platanus acerifolia, Sophora japonica, willow, beauty plum, crape myrtle, red-leaf barberry, golden privet, cedar...
