Our reporter (Peng Xiaolan) - A woman, Zhang, got into an argument with her husband after drinking and threw burning briquettes onto the bed, setting fire to their rented home. Recently, Zhang went on trial at the Fengtai Court on charges of arson.

The prosecution accused Zhang of throwing two burning briquettes onto the bed in the rented house where she lived at around 2 PM on February 6, 2009, after a quarrel with her husband over family trivialities. The fire caused damage to aluminum windows, wooden windows, wooden doors, and the wooden roof of the house. The economic loss was assessed at 770 yuan. On the day of the incident, both Zhang and her husband were in bad moods and drank together. They later argued over trivial matters, leading Zhang to throw the burning briquettes onto the bed out of anger. The landlord eventually reported the incident to the police.

After being arrested, Zhang was released on bail due to pregnancy. Not long after, her husband passed away due to illness, and Zhang changed her address and contact information, remarried, causing the police to issue a warrant for her arrest. Later, officers apprehended her while mediating an argument between Zhang and her new husband.

The court did not make an immediate verdict in this case.
