Tianjin University Wins 2011 CIS Innovation Award

On August 30, the Chinese Instrument Society (CIS) held an award ceremony at the New Yunnan Crown Plaza Hotel in Beijing to present the 2011 CIS Scientific and Technological Innovation Award. The project "Automatic Detection of Piston Ring Light Leakage and Closed Clearance for Diesel Locomotives," led by Professor Wang Zhong from Tianjin University's Precision Instrument College, was awarded the Second Prize of the 2011 CIS Science and Technology Award. The project "External Deep Brain Stimulator" led by Professor Li Gang and the project "Rapid Disease Screening Technology and Instruments Based on Spectral Tongue Diagnosis" led by Associate Professor Lin Ling both received the 2011 CIS Scientific and Technological Innovation Award.

The CIS Science and Technology Award is approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, authorized by the National Science and Technology Awards Office, and established by the Chinese Instrument Society. It is awarded annually.
