Emerson Wins $1 Billion Australia Project
Emerson has successfully won a $1 billion project in Australia. The National Broadband Network Company plans to construct a high-speed broadband network, connecting every household and business in Australia with cutting-edge broadband technology. The infrastructure project plays a crucial role in this plan. Emerson's success in securing this collaboration opportunity is attributed to its extensive product line and its ability to provide low-cost, high-efficiency infrastructure design for the data centers. These data centers will be established in the administrative centers of each state across the Australian continent, serving as hubs for network equipment, "warehouses" for network operations, and training facilities.
The successful bid, valued at over $1 billion, is thanks to Emerson's comprehensive product line, including high-efficiency power systems (Trinergy and ASCO brands), Liebert precision cooling systems and Smart Aisle optimization systems, SiteScan infrastructure monitoring and management systems, as well as fully integrated, factory-tested modular cabinet systems. Additionally, Emerson's deep expertise, leading solution implementation capabilities, end-to-end project management abilities, complete global supply chain and warehousing systems, and on-site engineering capabilities (through collaborations with Silcar and Greenbox Architecture) are also key factors contributing to Emerson's successful bid.
Emerson also leveraged its global product platform and mature R&D and service teams from Australia, Europe, Asia, and North America. This is fully reflected in the National Broadband Network project team. In this project, Emerson utilized its global mature resources and local deep IT and communication expertise.
Ross Campbell, Vice President of Emerson Network Power's Asia Telecommunications Business and an experienced market developer in the Australian telecommunications industry, said that Emerson can offer customers unique breadth in project experience and depth in technical expertise.
"Our approach reflects our excellence in the industry, which is our ability to create integrated solutions that combine core IT equipment with telecommunications equipment," Campbell said. "This capability, through the rapid construction of the network and supporting it to perform at its highest level, will bring great value to the National Broadband Network Company and the general public."
David Scott, the 38-year-old veteran of Emerson and Executive Director of Emerson Network Power Australia, said that the National Broadband Network Company will provide Australia with competitive advantages in the global industry and commercial fields.
"This involves more than just bandwidth issues. The systems and information in the data center need to provide functions in efficiency, reliability, and management so that the National Broadband Network Company can offer excellent network operation performance to meet the information needs of the Australian people," Scott said.
In recent years, Emerson has adopted a focused acquisition strategy, adding new data center infrastructure products and technologies to its core product range. "This business development strategy allows us to provide the National Broadband Network Company with industry-leading integrated IT and telecommunications technology and service solutions," he said.
Steve Christian, Network Operations Manager of the National Broadband Network Company, said: "We are very pleased to collaborate with Emerson Network Power on this project. The infrastructure solutions provided by Emerson Network Power will play a significant role in ensuring that the National Broadband Network covers every Australian home and business."
