Zhuo Zhihua is frequently asked by some rivals in the industry about how employees can carry out practical learning. Systematic practical learning is extremely important for the career development of professionals. Perhaps you are currently busy running around between customers, boasting and chatting, without realizing its importance (fear theory); perhaps you have read several motivational books and feel satisfied, thinking that you are the future version of Li Ka-shing and Bill Gates, looking down on practical learning (utility theory), always thinking that practice is pale and theory is the hard truth; or there are those who do not know how to learn (erudition theory). The difficulty of understanding practical knowledge and the incorrect learning methods always make many people lose their way and lack patience. These are several relatively common phenomena. I will not elaborate much on the effectiveness and necessity of practical knowledge learning here. An individual relying solely on "insight" to become a great talent is ultimately a minority (the probability should be less than 3%)! Practice comes from theory, it is a summary of the wisdom of our predecessors, and it is an effective guide for our practical work! A theory without theoretical foundation cannot stand, and practice without theoretical guidance is blind! Practical learning is a means of our growth, and applying what we learn is the ultimate goal and essence!
Learning generally involves several methods: making up for knowledge deficiencies, learning a skill, satisfying an interest, and improving self-cultivation. How to conduct practical learning? The author combines his own learning methods with friends in the industry to exchange and discuss, mastering a good learning method can be twice as effective, and hopes to improve oneself and bring a little bit of inspiration to you during the process of independent learning.
1. "Cutting Meat Method": A theoretical book is often a large volume, and we always lack time and patience to carefully read it. Let us pick up a scalpel and cut out the most exquisite part of the book. I often, when opening a theoretical book, habitually draw a coordinate chart on white paper first (as shown in the figure, the author calls this the "Cutting Meat Method", the figure below is for reference only).
1. Vertical view (time line): Taking the formation and development time of the theory as the main line, understand the entire history and background of the theory's development, its origin, key figures and works, research objects, research methods, and its role and feedback in the development process;
2. Horizontal view (theme line): Enter the core concept of the theory, thoroughly read and deeply understand the connotation of the theory;
3. Modern meaning: When reading a theoretical book, one should not fall into its intrinsic meaning but transform the knowledge into practical use. We study theoretical knowledge more for application, for guiding our practical work. One should step back and judge the modern significance of the knowledge from today's perspective.
4. Personal insight: Close the book, carefully comb through it, combine it with the hottest cases in reality for systematic analysis, summarize and improve, so that the theory can truly be "used for my benefit".
2. Mind Map (MMB: Mind map book)
A few years ago, when I was often hanging out in "Rest Valley," I first came into contact with the concept of "mind maps." I remember vividly that a younger brother wrote a series of mind maps called "The Demigods and Semidevils," which left me quite impressed. Such a great learning tool, meeting it late was regrettable, feeling guilty for not finding such a good tool earlier, which made me take many detours. Baidu "Encyclopedia" defines a mind map as follows: A mind map, also called a mental map, is an effective graphic thinking tool for expressing radiative thinking, a revolutionary thinking tool. It is simple yet extremely effective. Mind maps emphasize the relationship between different levels of themes using hierarchical diagrams, linking keywords of the theme with images, colors, etc., to build memory links. Mind maps fully utilize the functions of both the inner and outer brain, using the rules of memory, reading, and thinking to help people balance between science and art, logic and imagination, thus unlocking the infinite potential of the human middle brain. Calling it a revolutionary thinking tool is no exaggeration. I have admired the creator of the mind map, Tony Buzan, countless times in my heart. Genius, absolute top-level genius! I imagine Mr. Tony must hate learning, otherwise he wouldn't have invented such a genius-level learning tool. After getting acquainted with MMB, I carefully read the book "Mind Maps" written by Mr. Tony (Chinese version) all at once. Now, I often condense a theoretical book into a series of mental maps, leaving a deep impression. Even in many of my training courses and work presentations, I often use them. I hope everyone will seriously study and master this tool well.
Looking back suddenly, ten years have passed since I started on the frontlines. From a confused young man to reaching the age of thirty, from a grassroots business specialist growing into an executive of a heavy enterprise, every step of growth has been inseparable from my systematic learning of professional theoretical knowledge. This lesson is dedicated to the younger brothers and sisters fighting on the frontlines! Serial explanation source: (Editor: Purchasing Officer Editor)
