Fire in a rented house in Kangyue Village leaves one injured
Happy New Year, but be vigilant about fire hazards. Yesterday afternoon at around 4 PM, a fire broke out on the third floor of a rented house within Kangyue Dawei courtyard in Kangyue Village, Luhua West Street, Haizhu District. The fire was intense. After an hour of rescue efforts, the fire was finally extinguished. The incident left one middle-aged man injured.
Neighboring residents fled the scene
The alley was too narrow for the fire truck to enter
Upon arrival at the scene after receiving the report, the firefighters discovered that the small road leading to the burning building was too narrow for the fire truck to pass through. They had no choice but to connect dozens of hoses together to extinguish the fire at the source. Meanwhile, medical personnel entered the scene and carried the injured person out. According to nearby residents, a middle-aged man was injured, with his face and body charred black. "The injuries weren't severe; he was carried out on a stretcher and loaded onto an ambulance," said a neighbor.
After over an hour of rescue efforts, by around 5:50 PM yesterday afternoon, the fire was completely put out. The police removed the roadblock at the alley entrance, allowing some neighbors who had gone out to buy groceries to return home. However, the area surrounding the burning building remained cordoned off as the police entered the scene for investigation.
According to neighbors near the scene of the incident, the burning building was a rental property, usually rented by workers from nearby clothing factories. "Since it's the New Year period, most tenants have returned home for the holiday, leaving only a few workers still living inside." Neighbors speculated that the cause of the fire might have been due to a short circuit in the wiring. (Tipster: Mr. Wu, Reward: 100 yuan)
