Everyone was very curious when they saw such a big fish for the first time. Report by Yishengrong of Yangcheng Evening News with photos: On the 25th of this month, a huge fish drifted to the beach of Zhuzhu Village in Jinxiang Town, Lufeng City. The fish is over 17 meters long and weighs more than ten thousand catties, attracting many curious onlookers from both the local area and afar. According to Huang Shuiming, a 66-year-old fisherman, who has spent his life fishing, he has never seen such a large fish. Unfortunately, the fish was already dead when it was discovered, and after several days of exposure to the sun and wind, it began to smell.

Yesterday morning, under the guidance of local villagers, I drove to Zhuzhu Village. From over a thousand meters away from the beach, the stench wafting from the sea could already be smelled. Fishermen who had rushed over upon hearing the news, as well as curious visitors from Guangzhou, Shantou, and other places, gathered around pointing and discussing. I observed that the fish lay like a small hill on the beach. The part of its body exposed from the sand pile was severely decayed, covered with flies. Its head was completely rotted away, and two teeth nearly two meters long had been pried off by the villagers. At the tail of the fish, there was a nylon rope as thick as a thumb tied around it. The local villagers suspect that the fish may have died before drifting to the Zhuzhu beach, and the rope was tied by fishermen elsewhere attempting to drag it back into the sea. As for where the fish came from, no one knows clearly.

According to Huang Shuiming, the old fisherman who first discovered the fish, he found it while fishing at sea on the morning of the 25th. At that time, the fish was still intact and not yet smelly. "If it wasn't dead, it would have been quite valuable," he remarked. As for the name and species of the fish, the older fishermen in the village all said, "We've never seen it before, we don't know." Someone measured it with a ruler, and it turned out to be over 17 meters from head to tail, with an estimated weight exceeding ten thousand catties.

When asked what they planned to do with the stinking dead fish, the local villagers replied, "We discussed it, and decided to dig a pit right here and bury it." (Editor: SN026)
