"Beacon" was designed to quickly convey users' commercial activity information in order to achieve an advertising effect. The reason for its failure was that Facebook prioritized the platform's intentions over user preferences, as not all users are willing to share what they purchased publicly. On the other hand, mini-feed and news-feed extract valuable user activities and present them as digital information in front of users, which does not require users to set it up themselves. The platform’s refinement of user activity information aligns well with user preferences.
