My personal summary of Web 2.0 is that the essence of this wave is individuals seeking the attention of the masses. eBay has 150 million users, ideally speaking, which means 150 million people have learned how to trust strangers. In earlier stages of Internet development, trust was about whether users trusted a website. Today, the question has evolved into whether you trust other users on the website. eBay has so many users because it has solved this problem.
