In a society, if people in the middle and lower economic classes can indulge in delicious food as they wish, then within the next ten years, dieting will become quite popular. In the early stages, there will be an influx of unsubstantiated dieting methods and products without medical basis, and commercial weight loss programs with various slogans may temporarily become mainstream. South Korea entered this phase in the mid-1990s. Lacking knowledge of human medicine, some individuals indiscriminately introduced inaccurate information through various channels, fueling the trend for dieting.

However, those who attempt to lose weight often experience great disappointment due to the "yo-yo" effect. Recently, many pharmaceutical companies, food companies, and nutritionists have entered the weight loss market promoting scientifically-backed weight loss procedures, but this coincided with the IMF era. To date, although the weight loss market has shown signs of gradual warming, it has not fully escaped its depressed state.

In the early 1970s, the United States experienced a weight loss craze, followed by nearly a decade of relative stagnation in the field. It wasn't until the late 1980s, when fashion began to favor more revealing elegant skin, that dieting experienced another grand revival. Currently, the most popular weight loss term in the U.S. is "Lifestyle Change." Under this premise, combining exercise with dietary adjustments is necessary for long-term successful weight reduction, which represents the recent trend in the weight loss community.

There are over 2,000 weight loss methods worldwide, but apart from one method, all others share an alarming defect: fat cells do not disappear on their own. The size of fat cells may temporarily decrease, but their quantity remains unchanged. Individuals with excessive fat cells must reduce the size of these cells below normal levels to maintain a standard figure. However, the body's physiological functions easily tend to help fat cells return to their normal size, leading to likely failure. To date, liposuction is the only method on Earth that guarantees near 100% success.

In the past, some weight loss experts unanimously argued that using plastic surgery as a weight loss method was expensive and dangerous, and thus not a recommended solution. However, recent facts have shown that the number of weight loss experts collaborating with specialized plastic surgeons is increasing.
