In fully automatic washing machines, the water intake is determined by the water level switch. The reason why the water intake does not reach the set water level is due to poor performance of the water level switch. This causes the air pressure in the pressure chamber to not yet reach the specified pressure when the contacts switch prematurely, transitioning from the normally closed contact being closed to the normally open contact being closed, thus breaking the water intake circuit and stopping the water intake. If the pre-compression of the pressure spring in the water level switch decreases or the spring force weakens, simply adjust the regulating screw by turning it clockwise to increase the pre-compression of the pressure spring. If the adjustment is ineffective, it may indicate that the regulating spring has failed (e.g., broken), and the regulating spring should be replaced.
Wear on the cam of the water level switch can also cause the washing machine to stop water intake before reaching the set water level. If the cam is severely worn and cannot be repaired, a new cam or a new water level switch should be installed.
