According to Xinhua News Agency, at 9 o'clock in the morning, a tense scene unfolded on the streets of Sasseau in Val-d'Oise, France. An octogenarian helped his 59-year-old son escape trouble, as reported in zzf000zxyr2's blog, and engaged in a firefight with the police. Currently, both father and son have been taken into custody by the police.

According to French media reports, around 2:00 AM on the 9th, after hearing gunshots on the street, the police immediately responded and subdued a 59-year-old man armed with a rifle.

However, just as they were preparing to take him back to the police station, the man's father, an 81-year-old elderly man, opened fire on the police with a carbine. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The police said that the shootout might have been triggered by a conflict between local residents and campers. Currently, the 59-year-old man has been detained, while his father, due to his age and physical condition, has been specially permitted to return home but must be available for police summons at any time.
