According to French media reports, around 2:00 AM on the 9th, after hearing gunshots on the street, the police immediately responded and subdued a 59-year-old man armed with a rifle.
However, just as they were preparing to take him back to the police station, the man's father, an 81-year-old elderly man, opened fire on the police with a carbine. Fortunately, no one was injured.
The police said that the shootout might have been triggered by a conflict between local residents and campers.
