Haier Refrigerator Repair Technology Sharing: Power on, compressor does not start.

Fault Symptoms: When the refrigerator is powered on, the compressor does not start.

Analysis and Maintenance: The power supply voltage was measured at 220V. After disconnecting the power, a multimeter was used to measure the resistance of the compressor's starting winding, running winding, and its casing, all of which were found to be normal. Further inspection revealed that the contacts of the starting relay were burned out. After replacing the starting relay, the compressor still failed to operate. Disconnecting the temperature control and lighting circuits allowed the compressor to start and run. Using the ohm range of a multimeter, the DC resistance of the temperature control circuit and the lighting circuit to ground was measured at 3MΩ, which is basically within the normal range. It was determined that the fault might be caused by aging waterproof wires leading to reduced insulation resistance, resulting in insufficient supply voltage. The waterproof wires were removed and tested with a megohmmeter, showing a resistance value of over 1MΩ (which should normally be infinite). After replacing the old waterproof wires with new ones, the refrigerator returned to normal operation.
