September 7th, Northeast Network - According to the report in the "Mu Dan Jiang Morning Post", on September 6th, a man armed with two axes went on a rampage at Xinda Market in Yangming District. The police bravely moved forward to stop him but were slashed instead. In the critical moment, after warning shots proved ineffective, the police decisively shot and killed him. Currently, the Yangming District Procuratorate and relevant departments of the Municipal Public Security Bureau have intervened in the investigation of this case, which is still under further investigation.
At around 8 o'clock that morning, the on-duty policemen of Guanghua Police Station received an alarm reporting that a man armed with two axes was committing violence inside Xinda Market in Yangming District. The policemen immediately rushed to the scene and saw a disheveled and ragged man wielding two axes wildly slashing through the crowd, causing citizens to flee in panic.
Witnessing the danger, Policeman Zhang Shuang immediately jumped off the police car, running swiftly toward the man while loudly ordering him to drop his weapon. Suddenly, the man swung his axe towards Zhang Shuang. As Zhang Shuang was about to dodge, he tripped over a brick on the ground. The man took advantage of the situation and slashed towards his abdomen, causing blood to gush out instantly. When Zhang Shuang turned and retreated, his back was also injured. In the nick of time, Zhang Shuang fired a warning shot, but the emotionally unstable man fiercely lunged at him. Despite the intense pain, Zhang Shuang decisively raised his gun and shot at the man. After being hit, the man swayed slightly before continuing to raise his axe and slash towards Zhang Shuang. Zhang Shuang fired again, and the man was killed on the spot.
That afternoon, I arrived at the scene of the incident where a vendor selling snacks witnessed the entire process. She recounted that at the time, the man was asking a citizen shopping in the market for money, and after being refused, he grabbed an axe from a stall selling them and slashed at the citizen's back. Subsequently, the man picked up two axes and charged into the crowd. "I was really scared, that person was like crazy, hacking people everywhere," she described. She introduced that the man was around 30 years old and frequently asked passersby in the market for money or items, threatening them with a knife if they refused.
Guanghua Police Station confirmed that the identity of the violent man has not yet been determined, and the case is still under further investigation. The injured policeman, Zhang Shuang, had 16 stitches on his abdomen and 6 on his back, and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
