Recently, after the People's Procuratorate of Ga County, Sichuan Province, prosecuted the case, the county court sentenced Luo Xingyong to seven years in prison for rape.
On an evening in the seventh month of the lunar calendar in 2008, Xiao Fang (female, 12 years old, primary school student), from Sili Township, Ga County, Sichuan, went to her neighbor Luo Xingyong’s house to watch TV. Around 11 PM, after his father and wife had gone to sleep, Luo Xingyong forcibly dragged Xiao Fang, who was still watching TV in his living room, to the edge of his courtyard and raped her. Afterwards, Luo Xingyong took advantage of Xiao Fang coming to his house to watch TV, raping her multiple times in his living room and on his bed, while neither his father nor his wife noticed anything unusual.
On June 20, 2009, Xiao Fang’s family discovered that her abdomen was abnormal and took her to the hospital for a check-up. The hospital examination revealed that Xiao Fang was nearly seven months pregnant. The next day, Xiao Fang asked for leave from school due to a headache. The school principal, Mr. Diao, noticed Xiao Fang’s abnormal abdomen. After repeated inquiries, Xiao Fang revealed the truth, prompting the school to report the incident to the police. The police arrested Luo Xingyong, who confessed to his criminal acts without reservation.
