At around 3:40 PM on the afternoon of the 1st, while Officer Liao Wentao of the Jiang'an Traffic Team was dealing with a traffic violation involving an unlicensed silver Chevrolet car at the Sanyang Road intersection of Liberation Avenue, the driver forcibly rushed through the checkpoint, dragging Liao Wentao for more than a hundred meters before colliding with another vehicle and fleeing, causing multiple fractures to Liao Wentao.

After the incident, Standing Committee Member and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission, as well as Public Security Bureau Director Hu Xuping, quickly instructed relevant departments: make every effort to capture the criminal suspect and solve the case as soon as possible.

The police dispatched capable forces, forming an investigative team, promptly retrieving relevant video materials from near the scene of the incident, and conducting visits and investigations. Based on clues provided by the public, on the 2nd, officers uncovered the offending car in Wangjiawan, Hanyang District, and according to relevant information, accurately identified the offending suspect Zhang Jianghong.

The police immediately divided into two groups, one pursuing him to Jingzhou, and the other continuing to investigate in Wuhan. Investigations found that Zhang Jianghong was still in Wuhan, having appeared in the Street Mouth area of Wuchang.

At 8 a.m. yesterday, officers set up surveillance in the Street Mouth area. After a prolonged 13-hour wait, at around 9 p.m. last night, when Zhang Jianghong and a woman passed by the entrance of Building B of Fuhua Mansion in Street Mouth, several officers quickly surrounded and captured him.
