Jigao Air Conditioning, poor cooling effect due to cracked copper fittings on connecting pipes
Fault Phenomenon: Poor cooling effect, ice formation on the indoor unit
Cause Analysis: The low pressure of the outdoor unit was found to be very low during testing. There was a thick layer of ice on the evaporator and frost on the return gas pipe. No flattening of the pipes was found upon inspection. Switching to the blower mode, after defrosting, the low pressure was still below the normal value. A leak check revealed that the copper cap on the indoor unit connecting pipe was cracked.
Maintenance Measures: Replace the copper cap, then perform vacuuming and add refrigerant.
Experience Summary: Analyze specific situations specifically. Generally, analyze the cause of the fault based on the location and size of the frost area. In most cases, if the system is low on refrigerant, frost will form on the liquid pipe, and the upper part of the evaporator will have a thick layer of ice.
