According to American media reports, Edward Nicolas Hernandez, a Colombian man only 70 cm tall, has recently been awarded the Guinness World Record title of the shortest man in the world.

After He Pingping, the previous Guinness World Record holder who was 74 cm tall, passed away on March 13, the Guinness World Records official found Hernandez. At the age of 24, he weighs only 10 kg. He weighed 1.5 kg and measured 38 cm at birth. Hernandez's 43-year-old mother, Noemi, said that his height hasn't increased since he was 2 years old.

Noemi and her husband, who works as a security guard, have six children, with Hernandez being their eldest son. In 1992, one of their daughters, who was also very small in stature, unfortunately passed away just before her first birthday. The couple's youngest son, who is now 11 years old, stands at 93 cm tall and has facial features similar to Hernandez; the other three sons are of normal height and appearance.

Hernandez enjoys dancing and dreams of owning a car and traveling around the world. The person he most wants to meet is film star Jackie Chan, Sylvester Stallone, and former Colombian President Uribe.

Hernandez earned some money by performing dances in some department stores, and he will soon appear in a movie. He frankly admitted that he has gotten used to people taking pictures of him, but there are downsides to being the shortest man in the world: "What bothers me the most is that people always touch me and pick me up."
