According to reports (by reporter Gan Hao, correspondent Liu Chunjiang and Bao Shide), yesterday morning, a sick male infant who was only more than 10 days old was abandoned at the doorstep of a store in Changxin Store, Fengtai. After receiving the alert, the police officers from Changxin Store Police Station sent the male infant to Fengtai Hospital for treatment. The police are currently investigating the whereabouts of the baby's parents.
Yesterday morning, a worker at a building materials store on Jingzhou Road found a bundle of "stuff" wrapped in a plush blanket just after opening the store door.
"Upon opening it, we found a gasping infant," said the worker. In the cold weather, the child neither cried nor made a fuss, but seemed to be struggling to breathe. The worker inquired around, but no one knew where the baby came from. They immediately called the police.
Patrol police officers from the Changxin Store Police Station said that the male infant was wearing a hat, dressed in a one-piece baby suit, and appeared to be only about 10 days old. The baby had a yellowish complexion and was breathing extremely difficultly. The meticulous police officers realized that the baby might have been abandoned due to a serious illness. The patrol officer picked up the baby and immediately headed to the nearby Changxin Store Hospital.
After an initial diagnosis by the doctor, the male infant was found to have severe pneumonia, having only been born a few days ago with a weak immune system. The head of the police station took out his own salary and sent the baby to Fengtai Hospital.
In order to take good care of the baby, yesterday afternoon, the police officers from the Changxin Store Police Station bought milk bottles, formula, diapers and other necessities for the child and delivered them to Fengtai Hospital.
The pediatric emergency doctor stated that the male infant has been diagnosed with pneumonia, with a relatively severe condition requiring further observation and treatment. "The most important thing now is to find the baby's parents," said the police officer. They are currently visiting the surrounding areas to look for information about the baby's parents and also hope that members of the public who know relevant information will provide it to the police.
