When it came to her mother, Lian Mou was in tears continuously.

Xianyang News (Reported by Wei Guangjing) - The mother fell seriously ill and had no money for treatment. Her 37-year-old daughter faced great difficulties in treating her mother. With no economic resources at all, she resorted to selling drugs with others and earned 1800 yuan from the drug trade. When she was arrested, the woman said that the living pressure was too heavy, and being imprisoned instead became a kind of relief, allowing her to sleep peacefully.

Case

She thought of making money this way after seeing her sister-in-law take drugs.

According to Liu Feng, an officer handling the case from the Wenhui Road police station of Weicheng Branch of Xianyang Public Security Bureau, on November 15, the police arrested three suspected drug traffickers and seized 11.5 grams of heroin. After investigation, since November, Tian Mou purchased 15 grams of heroin three times from a man named "Lu Zi," totaling 6000 yuan. In addition to consuming it herself, Tian Mou handed over the rest of the drugs to her sister-in-law, Lian Mou, for external sales. Lian Mou sold drugs four times to Liu Mou, earning 1800 yuan in drug funds. Liu Mou then resold the heroin at higher prices to other drug addicts.

During the investigation, the police learned that Lian Mou, a rural woman, had never truly seen drugs before. One day, seeing her sister-in-law Tian Mou taking drugs at home, and having no money to pay for her mother's dialysis, Lian Mou discussed with her sister-in-law Tian Mou the idea of selling drugs to make money and cover the costs.

Currently, the suspects have been criminally detained, and the case is still under further investigation.

Life

Dialysis fees depended on her tricycle passenger income.

Yesterday, the reporter met Lian Mou at the Weicheng Detention Center of Xianyang Public Security Bureau. At 37 years old, Lian Mou’s hair roots were already gray, and her rough skin showed signs of hardship.

Lian Mou stated that because her mother suffered from uremia, she needed dialysis at the hospital every week, costing several hundred yuan each time, which was a large sum for their family. Although there were four siblings, the other three lived in rural Xunyi, so the cost of her mother's medical care mainly came from the income she earned by pulling passengers on her tricycle. In the first half of the year, she didn't dare to pull passengers during the day and could only secretly ride her tricycle at night when business was good, earning 40 yuan per night.

On September 20, when she rode her tricycle again to pull passengers on the street, her tricycle was confiscated by relevant authorities, cutting off her source of income. In November, she unintentionally saw her sister-in-law taking drugs and thus thought of making money by selling drugs to treat her mother.

When it came to her mother, Lian Mou's tears flowed incessantly. "As a child, I really don't have any skills; I can't earn money to treat my mother." She cried and said that she really had no choice, as the pressure of life made her feel suffocated. Now being caught was actually a kind of relief, allowing her to sleep more soundly in the detention center. The only thing she couldn't let go of was her mother and her teenage child. At this point, Lian Mou broke down in tears again.

Hospital

The mother has recently come for dialysis alone.

Yesterday, after leaving the detention center, Officer Liu Feng kept saying that Lian Mou's drug trafficking was illegal, and the law would not favor anyone.

The reporter went to the hospital where Lian Mou's mother often sought treatment — the Dialysis Department of Xianyang No. 215 Hospital. Doctor Pei Zhulian said that Lian Mou's mother, Wen Mou, indeed suffered from uremia and had been hospitalized. Doctor Pei had performed multiple dialyses on her. For patients like Wen Mou, they generally need dialysis three times a week. However, due to her family's financial difficulties, she could only receive dialysis once a week. It was reported that previously, Lian Mou always accompanied her mother for each dialysis session, costing around 300 yuan each time. Regarding some auxiliary materials or medicines, they always saved as much as possible. Lian Mou had mentioned many times that she didn't know where the money for the next dialysis would come from.

Doctor Pei said that on November 24, Wen Mou came for dialysis alone, which was her second time coming alone. The doctors found it strange that her daughter Lian Mou, who usually accompanied her, hadn't been with her these last two times. Upon learning that Lian Mou had been arrested for over a week due to her illegal drug trafficking activities to treat her mother, several doctors were left speechless.
