The "Troublesome" Dice
At around 3 a.m. yesterday, at a nightclub named "Royal No. 9" near the northern ring road, a female waitress won several rounds while playing dice with a guest. Unexpectedly, the guest became infuriated and grabbed a glass, smashing it hard on the waitress's head, causing her major artery to be cut by the shattered glass. Currently, the male and female assailants have been placed under police control.
The Victim
Face Covered in Blood, Unrecognizable
A doctor on duty at the emergency room of Hefei First People's Hospital stated that when the injured waitress was brought in, her face was covered in blood, making her almost unrecognizable. Due to the severing of her major head artery, based on her blood pressure, she had lost nearly 1000 milliliters of blood.
At 3 p.m. yesterday, reporters arrived at the nightclub where the incident occurred. Upon entering, they heard several waitresses discussing the matter. Led by one waitress, the reporters went to Room 311, where the waitress was attacked. Although the room had been cleaned, there were still many residual glass shards and some bloodstains visible on the carpet. On the table inside the room, several wine bottles were placed, and four or five dice lay scattered on the sofa. A trash bin nearby was filled with bloody tissues.
The Cause
Lost at Dice, Then Assaulted
According to one waitress, the assaulted waitress surnamed Yang, aged 20, was affectionately called QiQi by everyone. "That woman hit too hard, directly smashing a glass onto QiQi's head," said the waitress.
This waitress explained that the reason QiQi was beaten was merely because she won a few more rounds during the dice game. "At the time, QiQi was accompanying a young couple playing dice. She consecutively won several rounds against them. The female companion possibly felt humiliated and thus picked up a glass and smashed it onto QiQi's head, also cutting her face with the broken glass. What's even worse is that after the woman finished attacking, the man also joined in."
Progress
Assailants Controlled by Police
Reporters attempted to contact the nightclub's manager, but all staff claimed they did not know the whereabouts of the manager.
One waitress recounted that after the incident, all the waitresses were extremely agitated and demanded severe punishment for the young couple. However, the response from a supervisor at the nightclub left the waitresses disheartened. "The supervisor said 'They are our regular customers, let's make it small.' We couldn't accept it; just because these people have money, they don't respect us waitresses at all, it's too infuriating!"
It is understood that due to timely rescue, the major artery severed on the waitress's head has been stitched up, and she is now out of danger but still requires observation. Meanwhile, the young male and female assailants have been placed under police control, and the matter remains under investigation.
